Six daguerrotypes
The case on this one feels like it was never opened. It's very tight, which is why it's shown half open. And it's completely clean inside, no scratches, no marks.
What I found out about Hosea Dodge: Hosea W. Dodge died in Marlow, New Hampshire on Feb. 6, 1894, age 80 years, 10 months, and 16 days. He was born in Stoddard and made his livelihood as a farmer. He had pernicious anemia and was buried in Washington. Was the husband of Lucy A. Richardson (shown here). He was the son of Elijah Dodge, born in Winchester and Sarah Jackson, born in Stoddard.
The strip of paper was found under the photo, sandwiched into the case.
